These Are Powers Candyman 12′ ep is out now on RVNG Int’l. My favorite track is World Class People and also the Teengirl Fantasy World Class People remix. MNDR had the major honor of playing the ep release along side a face melting set by Blondes at CoCo66 (best bar live music venue in all of NYC). The show was absolutely amazing. There was a crazy fireworks type lighting event that occurred throughout the entire show along with an audience made of pure electricity.
Here is the ep. It is available via RVNG Int’l website. This is an essential 2010 spin for any music lover/dj.
Also here are some live pics from Village Voice Blog. Photos by Rebecca Smeyne

This tour is full of snowdrifts and snow bunnies.
Minneapolis show was at club Medu$a with DJs Solid Gold, Soviet Panda, Elite Gymnastics was absolutely next level. Medu$a is an amazing DIY space tucked away in a secret location at the West Bank with nothing but a bonfire to keep you all warm in the midst of a blizzard. 150 kids showed up to connect emotionally. It was one word..magnetic
The Cave at Carleton College in Northfield, MN is the hometown of Malt O Meal and academia. This was the first night of the Yacht/Bobby Birdman/MNDR tour. The show was so heated that we blew the amps and speakers. sweat (perspiration)
Saturday night at The Empty Bottle means eating at Bite, whiskey, and tons of absolutely amazing Chicago people. I love Chicago…I love your musicians….I love your clubs…I love what you got.

I was thinking of records that really changed my perception of experimental pop music. I was trying to recall records that effortlessly staddled both genres. Then I remembered this cassette tape that my Triangle band mate (Brian Tester) left in my vehicle. I would lose it in the vortex of the unknown in the subaru and then I would find it and leave it in my cassette player for monthes. This record is OMD’s Dazzle Ships. OMD’s Dazzle Ships (1982) is a concept record that includes pop perfection along with music concrete influenced sound scapes. This complete work is a comment on The Cold War and Eastern Bloc politics.
Then after giving this record to Peter in the studio, he actually knew what a Dazzle Ship meant. Dazzle painting, developed by marine painter Norman Wilkinson, was a style of geometric shaped camouflage painted on war ships in WWI and WWII. This style of camouflage was not meant to hide the ships, but to disorientate the enemies perception of the ships direction and speed.
Also, I just discovered there were two different covers for this record. Also, OMD is not just a prom dance.

“I’m digging on a number of the NYC new kids on the block, if you will. If recalled correctly, together, they make up one of the largest chunks of beastly words. They are: Theophilus London, MNDR, Sleigh Bells and Zambri. Each are recording, some with full debut albums due out in 2010. Color us stoked.” -Sheena Beaston
Miss. Beaston let us chrome plate our lifestyles.
